What to expect on your first visit?

Upon arrival, please notify the receptionist so he or she can inform the dental team. If you are unable to complete health history online, the receptionist will hand a copy for you to complete.  Once your name has been called by a dental team member, you will follow he/she to a sterilized treatment room.  During this time, we strive to build a relationship with the patient that goes beyond dentistry.  If there are any oral cavity concerns, please feel free to disclose this information.

X-rays are a necessary part of the clinical exam performed by the dentist.  Having a visual aid exploring dental decay, bone loss, abscessed teeth, and jaw relationships ensures a proper examination.

Comprehensive Exam:

If there are no specific emergency needs, the dentist will perform a thorough examination of the oral cavity.

After an examination has been completed, it’s likely the doctor will recommend preventive measures such as a dental cleaning.  Often, dental cleanings can be completed on the initial visit, without the presence of periodontal disease.  A full treatment plan will be completed and discussed with each patient prior to moving forward with any dental treatment.  This treatment plan will be specifically designed to each patient to ensure we meet each personal need / desire.
