Technology

Dentistry is an ever-changing field with new discoveries and research opportunities, so Dr. Holt stays up-to-date with all the latest techniques and technologies to offer the best available care for his patients.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital x-rays and sensors allow us to see details that lie below the surface of your smile. These diagnostic devices fit comfortably in the mouth and show high-resolution images while reducing radiation exposure. Using our chairside monitors and TVs, we can look at the images together and zoom in or apply filters on images to enhance diagnostics. Our dental office can easily archive these digital radiographs without compromising quality and can safely send digital copies to referral partners or insurance companies.

Panoramic X-Ray

Panoramic X-Ray

Panoramic x-rays capture the entire mouth in one image, revealing details of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding bones and tissues. Our team may use a panoramic x-ray to detect signs of:

  • Advanced gum disease
  • Jaw bone cysts or tumors
  • Oral cancers
  • Impacted teeth and wisdom teeth
  • Jaw disorders
  • Sinusitis

We also use panoramic x-rays for treatment planning for braces, extractions, implants, and dentures.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide sedation, also known as "laughing gas," is a mild conscious sedative that's inhaled through a mask. Patients may use nitrous oxide to manage dental anxiety, overactive gag reflexes, or for additional relaxation. Nitrous oxide offers a light, dream-like effect though you will still be able to communicate with the doctor. The effects wear off within a couple minutes of ceasing use.

Digital Records

Digital Records

Digital records streamline our dental office while ensuring your confidential records are under digital lock-and-key. We can send copies of your records to dental insurance companies and referral partners, and you can easily access them at your leisure.

TVs in Treatment Rooms

TVs in Treatment Rooms

We have TVs in our treatment rooms so patients can sit back and relax during their dental appointments. Whether you want to watch your favorite TV show or movie, our TVs are often a welcome distraction for patients. We also use the TVs to show our patients their digital x-rays and images for patient education and treatment planning.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

We are pleased to offer noise-cancelling headphones to help block out the sounds of the dental office. We invite patients to wear these comfortable headphones if they simply want to have a more relaxing and tranquil experience while listening to music. We also offer scented facial towelettes, blankets, and pillows so you can feel rested and at ease during your appointment.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras are small, digital cameras we use to capture images of your mouth that we can't see with the naked eye. These special cameras are comfortable for the patient and easily capture detailed images of the teeth, gums, and surrounding tissue.

Digital Impressions to tkae 3d scans of the mouth

Digital Impressions

Dr. Holt uses digital impressions to take 3-D scans of your mouth. These impressions allow us to accurately provide treatment for the following:

  • Tooth decay detection
  • Treatment planning for dentures
  • Treatment planning for tooth alignment
  • Dental implant placement
  • Splints, mouthguards, and nightguards
  • Preventive dentistry monitoring
  • Guided surgery

iTero Scanner

iTero Scanner

Our dental office uses an iTero scanner to digitally capture images of tooth and gum structures and create a 3-D model of your mouth. Basically, the iTero scanner is an upgraded x-ray that captures every angle of your teeth to create a precise and detailed impression for tooth replacements, tooth alignment, and other treatments.
